How far along: 11 weeks
Symptoms: The pregnancy headaches have begun. I remember getting them for about a month or so with Little I so I’m wondering how long these will stick around. I suffer from migraines and usually have specific medicine to take but, obviously, whilst pregnant I can’t take those medications. I’ve been relying on my trusty 4head stick which you wipe across your forehand and it provides some cooling relief. As a last resort I take half a paracetemol to try and kill it. Apparently pregnancy headaches are due to hormonal changes (shocker!) and increased blood flow around your body. At least they’re not as bad as migraines I guess. Still enjoying regular bouts of morning sickness, massive food aversions and constipation as well!
Food Cravings: Bread and butter. Mmmmm…
Sleep: Same old really. We need a new bed. We are both uncomfortable in this one now so it’s definitely time to pop it on the never ending list of things to buy.
Stretch Marks: Nope, long may it continue. I have noticed a slight ‘bulge’ in my lower tummy though so a bump may be on its way a lot quicker than it did with Little I.
Miss Anything: I missed alcohol a little bit this weekend when we went out for a work meal on Friday and there were so many good cocktails on the menu. I had a glass of Prosecco on Sunday, whilst out for a pub lunch, though and didn’t particularly enjoy it (which is NOT like me at all). So this pregnancy is doing strange things to me. I really craved and missed alcohol whilst pregnant with Little I. Not so much this time round.
Best Moment: THE SCAN!!! Oh my goodness me I can’t tell you how happy I was to see our little bean burger dancing about on the screen. Best feeling ever. We had a private scan because my NHS one won’t be till I’m 14 weeks (with being away for a week and a bit) and we wanted to have one before we see our families next week to tell them.
Worst Moment: None really, apart from me absolutely exhausted at work and suffering from these headaches.
Looking forward to: Going home on Friday, to Scotland, and telling my family and friends up there the good news!
