You are seven months old and fast becoming as much of a character as your sister. You have the same mischievous glint in your eye when you smile and laugh so I know we are going to have our hands full (even more so) once you are on the move!
This is our last month together on maternity leave and it’s breaking my heart. I feel like we were both robbed of this time together by your silent reflux. Some days felt the hardest battle to get through in one piece and it was so hard to see you in so much pain for so long. Never mind though, onwards and upwards and we are starting to see so much of your personality shining through now.
You had your settling in sessions at nursery and did so well. I think you are going to be just fine there.
Dada has been away a lot, which makes things harder, but we’ve kept really busy and have gotten up to all sorts thing month. It’s nice having some regular things to do every week as well, like swimming, baby group, soft play Wednesday mornings and music bugs.
I think you are roughly 8.5kgs. Really need to get you weighed before I go back to work!
You are comfortably in 6-9 month clothes now and the weather keeps getting really hot so you are in vests quite a lot.
6.30 – 7.00am – get up and I feed you
8am – breakfast
10am-ish – feed and nap
12pm-ish – lunch
2pm-ish – feed and nap
5.15pm – dinner
6.30pm – bath time
6.45pm – I feed you again then bed time
Between 1 and 2am – you tend to get up for a feed.
I feel like we’ve hit a sleep regression this month. It has been AWFUL trying to get you to go to bed. By the time you finally do settle, I feel like I need to go to bed! Sometimes it takes over an hour. We’ve been allowing you to cry for a little bit because nothing else was working and
You are still feeding exclusively from me about five times a day but for slightly shorter times now. We need to start you on your dairy free formula to get you used to it for nursery – eek! You are continuing to enjoy exploring food and like a mix of purees and baby led food, such as pasta. I am still sticking to the slightly plainer purees so that we can see if you react to anything. Snacks you enjoy are – cut up banana; crackers; carrot or strawberry puffs; raspberries; chopped up egg.
