Next month is Christmas guys, can you believe it?!
Start planning Christmas – with Christmas sneaking ever closer, it would probably be a good time to start planning things. We always go up North for Christmas, staying with R’s family for a few days and then my family for Christmas and Hogmanay. I need to get the decorations for our house sorted (always like to get them up on the 1st of December so we get the most of them for a few weeks), start getting everyone’s gifts, buy Christmas cards, organise a couple Christmas get togethers, book an Airbnb for a night in Edinburgh between Christmas and Hogmamay and plan our travels up north. I do love Christmas though so it’s all worth it. EEEK.
Have another de-clutter – oh my goodness I need to sort out all our wardrobes. It’s just silly. I can barely close my tops drawer or my pyjama drawer and they’re not full of things I wear. It’s time to really cull anything that hasn’t been worn in a year! I need to sell some more of the kids clothes, as they are rapidly outgrowing things at the moment. The toys could probably do with a sort out too. To film or not to film?
Explore some new places – we’ve been so busy at weekends, with pre-made plans, that we haven’t really had much time just as a family doing chilled out things. We haven’t used our National Trust Membership in months and we haven’t really explored any new places recently. I’d like to do at least a couple little family days out before things get REALLY crazy before Christmas! Any Hampshire recommendations, let me know.
Have more date nights – the husband will probably end up back at sea in the next couple months so we have to make the most of having him around just now. It’s always hard not having family around and having to ask friends/pay someone to babysit for us. It makes planning a date night out that little bit harder and more of an effort, but we need to do it. A couple dinner and cinema trips, or just going somewhere for a couple drinks and a chat, would be lovely. Might plan some stay in date nights too, like a sitting room picnic and movie night!
Try and make a decision about what to do job and career wise – ugh, I’m still at this annoying crossroads where I don’t know what to do. The ideal option I had envisaged doesn’t seem like it is going to materialise so I’m kind of back at square one with no idea how to juggle everything. I’m sure it’ll all fall into place one day…
Do you have any goals this month?
