My kids LOVE animals! From the animals we’ve seen at the zoo, to the animals we’ve watched on many a David Attenborough program, to our own beautiful little cat, they are just obsessed. Our cat is definitely one of the most favoured members of the family and both kids try and get as involved in her life as they can. Little I now likes helping to feed her and finds it hilarious to open her cat flap and help her through (even though she doesn’t need any help whatsoever!) and L loves chasing her and trying to cuddle her (the relationship is very one sided).
When Petplan pet insurance got in touch and offered to make Little I a soft toy based on her ‘dream pet’ she was so excited. She spent ages telling me all about what it would look like and got me to redraw what she was telling me a good few times before giving it her seal of approval. This is what we ended up with:
And this is what arrived in the post:
Little I was absolutely delighted and loves looking after her ‘Pink-all-the-spots-everywhere giraffe’! She makes sure that she ‘feeds’ it lots of leaves and yummy giraffe food, gives it ‘water’ during the day and ‘milk’ at bedtime, and, of course, gives it lots of cuddles and love.
If this lovely little giraffe was a real pet then Little I would also need to get some form of pet insurance. I wonder what the rate would be for a Pink spotty giraffe! We have always had pet insurance for our pets. You just never know what’s going to happen and it would be horrendous to be in the situation where you couldn’t afford to pay for your beloved pets treatment.
Since Petplan was created in 1976, their priority has been to keep the nation’s pets healthy and us owners happy. By offering the very best pet insurance policies and great customer service, they have helped millions of owners get their beloved pets back on their feet following illness and injury.
Petplan understand that pet owners have specific needs when it comes to finding the right insurance policy, and became one of only a few pet insurance providers to offer genuine ‘lifetime’ policies. In addition to their market leading Covered for Life® policies, they also offer a 12-month policy that is designed to suit all pet owner’s needs.
Another great thing about Petplan (and what I think is just wonderful) is that they work with more animal rehoming charities than any other pet insurance provider and they are committed to supporting charities in any way they can. They work with more than 1,200 charities throughout the UK and in 1994, they formed the Petplan Charitable Trust which has so far raised more than £7million towards a better, healthier world for animals, which is great.
Even though none of us want to think about anything going wrong, make sure you’ve got your furry little friends covered just in case. After all, they become part of the family and you would do anything to keep them healthy and happy.
