So January took forever and then February just vanished. Am I right?! Here are the goals I’m hoping to achieve this month, we shall see!
Make it through the month of solo parenting – the husband’s ship is away a lot this month and even when it is here, they are so busy with work so we are barely seeing him. I’m doing a whole lot of days without him and I’m just hoping to get through the month with the kids and I in one piece. I’ve been trying to keep us busy and in a good routine so that things don’t unravel too often. It’s sometimes harder with the coming and going because you get into your routine and then your partner comes back, messes it up, and then leaves again! Next month and May will be even worse as they ramp up with training and work before deploying in June, but at least we get some time over Easter and pre-deployment leave together.
Update my site – I think my blog needs a bit of a move around and update. Just to make it look a little fresher and sleeker. I need to redo the slider images, update our profile picture, change the sidebars a bit, update my shopping section and check some legacy categories and links. Sometimes it’s hard to balance the amount of time needed for the blog against the amount of time needed for our YouTube channel, but this little blog means a lot to me so I need to give it some more love.
Finish de-cluttering – the kids toys need done desperately, the storage area under the stairs has spiralled out of control a little bit and I’d like to get the loft sorted before R deploys so it’s done and out of the way, and I can get help getting things down!
Book Little I’s party and plan her birthday – I suddenly realised this week that Little I’s birthday is in less than six weeks!! I’ve got two ideas for a birthday party. Either an outdoor trail place or an indoor action stations party with a climbing activity. Whatever we do it needs to be Spiderman themed apparently. For her actual birthday I’m going to do our usual little party at home and hopefully some family can come join us. Present wise it was between a scooter and a mud kitchen and I think my parents are nabbing the scooter idea so I’ve been scouting out mud kitchens for us to customise.
Work out three times a week – I was doing really well for about a month – doing 3 HIITS a week and a gym class – but since I’ve been solo parenting all week I’ve really struggled to find the time after work, in between life and kids admin and blog/YouTube work. Maybe I need to get to bed earlier and get up in the morning to work out before work.
What are your goals this month?
