I’ve got a new recipe to share with you guys that I created a while back. It’s a firm favourite with my two kids because it’s rather tasty, and it’s a firm favourite with me because it’s packed full of veg and they don’t even know it! It’s super easy to make and we’ve started jazzing it up by using Tilda Kids basmati rice, instead of plain rice. Yum!
Back when Little I was about two, we discovered she loved rice. I remember buying one of the Tilda Kids rice packs because I couldn’t face making any more pans of rice. I kept making far too much and we would be eating rice for days! L isn’t as much of a rice fan but since we’ve tried him on the Tilda Kids packs of rice, which have a fun flavours such as Cheese and Tomato Rice, Sunshine Vegetable Rice, Mild Curry Rice and, Vegetable and Wholegrain Rice, he’s coming round.
So onto the recipe…
For garlic bread soldiers:
12. Add in tuna and sweetcorn.
13. Pop your Tilda Kids Rice pack in the microwave.
14. Add the Tilda rice to the sauce and mix round.
15. Toast your bread.
16. Mix some garlic puree with butter (to your own taste) and spread on toast.
17. Cut into thin strips.
15. Serve the hidden veg tuna rice with the little garlic bread soldiers and a tiny slice of lime to add some fun into the meal for your littles ones – they can squeeze it in themselves.
A great, quick mid week meal for those busy after work and school days!
The Tilda Kids range is also perfect with meatballs, fish, sausages…and much more. The recipes are vegetarian, free from preservatives and artificial colours, gluten free and three out of the four recipes are also dairy free. Lovely stuff!
