From the moment I laid eyes on the Babyzen YoYo I knew it was a match made in pushchair heaven. We travel a lot and as much as I love my travel system, I needed to explore a more compact, easier to transport option. I believe stroller is the term that Babyzen use to describe their products so we’ll go with that!
First of all, a little bit about Babyzen’s history. Babyzen was founded when 5 French individuals (men interestingly) decided they were sick of impractical, bulky and poor looking strollers. They wanted to start afresh and to come up with a stroller that hadn’t been seen before on the market.
This led them to create the Babyzen YoYo. We tested the version that is suitable from 6 months +. There is a 0 months + version, that comes on the 6 months + base which is great value for money.
My first impressions were that it was very light and very easy to manoeuvre. I can pick the whole thing up quite easily with one hand and can pick it up with Isla in it (with two hands!), who weighs 20lbs now. It weighs 5.8kgs, which is nothing when you are thinking about a stroller. I’ve certainly not come across one that’s lighter!
You can control the stroller with one hand very easily and it doesn’t lift off the ground like you would expect from such a light stroller. The weighting and balance of it are great.
I couldn’t get over how stylish it was for a stroller. It rivals some of it’s Bugaboo and iCandy friends in that department but has a lower price point.
Now for the main event – the folding and unfolding of the stroller. My husband timed me and I managed to get it down in 8 seconds and back up in 7 seconds. How ridiculously fast is that?! I may even video that in addition to our YouTube review to prove it! You literally just press two buttons, inside the hood, at the same time that fold the top town, pull a lever underneath the seat, pull it upwards and clip it together using the hook and it’s down and secure. To get it back up you simply unclip the hook, which will make it pop up, then you pull the handle part back up. Simple stuff.
The brake is also very easy to find and use and there is great suspension on the wheels.
The clasp and buckle for securing your baby in the Babyzen YoYo is very easy to use. It can be done really quickly, without fuss, which is great when you are travelling through airports etc.
The basket under the stroller is quite small but that it is to be expected on such a compact, lightweight stroller. It’s still large enough to fit some shopping or bits and bobs into it.
The design of the base and the wheels is super sleek and will appeal to even the most fashion and style conscious mums out there.
The Babyzen YoYo also reclines using a, very simple to use, strap at the back of the seat unit. It is a great added feature for a stroller. There is also a little pocket, below the strap, to store a few essentials. They really do maximise the potential of the stroller using the limited space effectively.
We love the peek a boo window that you can peek down on your baby through to see whether they are misbehaving ok.
It barely takes up any room in your car boot, which is great if you are travelling with lots of luggage. You will barely notice it’s there.

All in all the Babyzen YoYo is a huge hit here at The Knott Bump & Us HQ! We would very happily (and quite loudly!) recommend it to anyone who is looking for a stroller for travelling, urban living, using on public transport, shopping etc. The possibilities are endless with the Babyzen YoYo. I’ll let you know a little secret…I haven’t used my £600 pushchair since I started testing the Babyzen YoYo. Don’t tell my husband though!
You can buy the Babyzen YoYo for £375 from major baby retailers. A great price for a great stroller.
We would love to hear your opinions on the Babyzen YoYo. Do you have one? What do you think of it?
