I am obsessed with mascara. It’s a fact. I think it’s due to the fact I have super Blonde eyelashes and without mascara I inevitably get asked the question ‘are you feeling ok?’ at least once a day.
I remember someone telling me years ago that naturally Blonde people shouldn’t wear Black mascara. They should stick to Browns and lighter colours. Well I’ve worn full on, thick Black mascara since day one! I love it and it’s an essential part of my make up routine.
This means I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect mascara. It used to be Bourjous’ Clubbing Mascara, then it was MAC’s Haught & Naughty Lash and many more in-between.
I ran out of mascara a couple weeks ago and happened to be in Debenhams one day walking past the Urban Decay counter. I’ve recently gotten their basic palette and was very impressed so thought I would check out their mascara range.
The one that jumped out at me was Urban Decay’s Perversion mascara. The sleek packaging caught my eye and the actual mascara tube design is great too.
The first thing I checked was the brush. I’m not a fan of the newer plastic brushes. I like good old thick bristles! UD P has a fab bristle-y brush which picks up lots of mascara in one go, which is a big plus point in my book. I like to wear lots of mascara and be able to get enough on in one or two coats.
The mascara itself is a good consistency. Not too thick that’s it’s clumpy but thick enough!
I knew from the moment I put it on that I was going to love this mascara. It feels lovely and goes on really well. The length you get is great and if you apply a couple coats you can achieve a really dramatic look.
It doesn’t smudge throughout the day and washes off easily at night. Both important qualities in a good mascara.
I’ve since found out that it’s Urban Decay’s newest mascara and it was used on Kim Kardashian at her wedding to Kayne West. Good choice!
