As a mama to a toddler who has hit a bit of a fussy eating stage (read more about that here), I am constantly on the lookout for new snacks to try out. Sometimes it seems that by keeping a variety of tempting food tucked away in your cupboards, you can swiftly avoid the ‘NO, I don’t want to eat’ attitude by offering new and exciting snacks that our lovely little terrors simply cannot resist!
One of the new snacks that we have been experimenting with recently are Fruit Heroes. Fruit Heroes are an all-natural product that make a great lunch box addition. They originated in Denmark and are hugely popular in their native country, with over 30 million bars being sold each year.
Fruit Heroes are rich in natural energy, fibre and fruit so they are a great option if you are looking for a healthy alternative snack. They contain no added preservatives and no added sugar but have a shelf life of around 16 months, which is good as nobody likes to waste food.
We were sent a few packets of Fruit Heroes to try out (1x Strawberry, 1x Apple and Raspberry, 1x Banana, 1x Blackcurrant ) and have been putting them to the test over the past few weeks.
Little I and I were both intrigued by the texture and colour of the Fruit Heroes bars. To be honest, the Fruit Hero bars are not the most attractive colour, but that’s a good thing! Most snacks that are fun and bright colours are pumped full of colourings and additives that you really don’t want to be eating.
I have found that cutting the bars up into little chunks and putting them in with her bento box snacks seems to be the most popular way for Little I to enjoy Fruit Heroes. Sometimes when I gave her the whole bar she gave up halfway through it. Kids are so fickle!
I also froze a Fruit Hero bar once and gave it to Little I when she was teething and it seemed to be a big hit.
All in all we have thoroughly enjoyed the Fruit Heroes and will be adding these to our shopping basket in the future. It’s such a relief when you find a healthy alternative snack for your toddler to enjoy, as opposed to all the sweets and crisps etc out there.

And now you can have the opportunity to try them out for yourselves…
We are giving away twelve boxes in total. Four to three different winners. To be in with a chance, all you have to do is enter through the widget below and comment on this blog post.
