Where your baby is going to sleep is usually one of the first things you start to think about when planning your purchases for your brand new bundle of joy. There are so many options out there. Crib, cot, bedside crib, moses basket, to name a few. And then for each of these options, there are then lots of different choices in terms of style and brand. When it comes to moses baskets Izziwotnot offer a really great range and before Baby L was born, we were kindly sent one to review and share our thoughts on it with you.
We never had a moses basket with Little I and I’m not entirely sure why that was. We had a bedside crib but didn’t end up getting anything else specific for her to nap in during the day. It was more a case of using her carry cot from her pram (off the pram) instead. It might have been due to the fact we spent so much on the beside crib (and bigger cot for the nursery) that we didn’t feel we could justify spending anymore on somewhere else for her to sleep.
This time around though I am so glad we are able to use a moses basket for daytime naps and am even more glad that the moses basket we are getting to use is from Izziwotnot. As soon as it arrived I could tell it was going to be a lovely addition to our house. The quality is plain to see as soon as you get it our of the box. The stand is nice and sturdy and I really love the look and feel of the basket.
We love all the detailing on the moses basket. From its soft cotton padding and wicker basket detail to it’s canopy hood, it all looks really premium and luxurious. I mean, even the handles look great.
Sometimes with moses baskets, and other baby products that feature mattresses, the mattresses can often be a bit flimsy or unsupportive. This isn’t the case with the Izziwotnot moses basket mattress. It is a wonderful fit for the basket and offers the perfect level of support for your baby. It is also easily wiped clean, which is always a winner with a baby product!
The stand is a good height and is easy to assemble. It also feels very supportive and safe. No rocking about or unsteadiness with this stand.
How we’ve got on:
We have really enjoyed using the Izziwotnot White Gift Wicker Moses Basket and are sure we will continue to do so, as long as Baby L fits into it! It’s great to have somewhere set up for him to sleep during the day that doesn’t have to be moved from one room to another, even though it would be easy to move around if needed. It’s more that I mean it’s nice that we can have it set up in rooms other than our bedroom, because the bedside crib is already set up there. It’s good for us that we can use it as a day time sleeping area and don’t have to move it through to our bedroom every night.
We love the combination of the Grey and White colours of the basket and stand and it fits into our house decor perfectly.
Baby L seems to be enjoying his Izziwotnot moses basket. He settles well when he is put down in it and likes to have his daytime naps through in the other living room in it. This could also be down to the fact his big sister doesn’t frequent that room as much, so he gets a bit more peace!
We have used the fact that the moses basket has handles to our advantage quite a lot. Moving it around to places like the bathroom if one of us is in the house alone and needs to have a shower!
It’s good to be able to have the option of having it on the stand or the floor. Sometimes the stand is great because it keeps it out of the way of the toddler and the animals but at the same time, it is sometimes good to have it on the floor because it can be safer when the toddler is in a wild mood and at risk of bumping the basket off the stand.
Would we recommend?
If you are after a good looking, great quality moses basket that combines functionality with comfort, style and good value for money, then we would definitely recommend the Izziwotnot moses basket.
