How far along: 39 weeks
Symptoms: Getting pretty uncomfortable now! I really didn’t think I’d make it this far at all. After all the scares in early pregnancy and then the hospital admissions at 23 weeks, no one is more shocked to still be pregnant than me! I’ve started getting some strange symptoms that leave me thinking ‘am I going into labour?!’. There has been a random two day cold (I never get colds), countless nose bleeds (I got them before I went into labour with Little I), I had a couple days where I was really nauseous (like I was before I had Little I), lots of bump pains/tightenings and sleep is rubbish! I also thought I might be losing my mucous plug the other night because my friend had described what it looked like (delightful haha), but who knows. Lastly I’ve been getting more heartburn and have been having some interesting toilet habits (almost as if my body is clearing out for labour……lovely).
Food Cravings: Nothing in particular now. Just very thirsty a lot of the time still.
Movement: Still lots of movement which is great but you can tell baby is definitely running out of room. It’s bum feels like it’s going to burst out of my tummy and one of its feet often pokes out of my right hand side.
Gender: N/A.
Sleep: Sleep is still a bit hit and miss. Every night I go to bed with my hypnobirthing app and my pregnancy pillow and fall asleep pretty quickly but then I’m up to go to the toilet and am often in quite a lot of pain if my bladder is too full. I’ve stopped drinking anything past 9pm now to try and minimise the toilet trips.
Stretch Marks: I don’t think so. There are two suspicious marks on the left hand side of my bump, just down from my belly button that I’m not sure about. They could be veins or they could be the dreaded stretch marks making their first ever appearance. I would be so annoyed after getting through two pregnancies and getting them at this stage!
Miss Anything: Still just the husband. And when I’m getting braxton hicks, I miss not being in pain. I miss not worrying about labour too!
Best Moment: Little I starting to get a lot more loving and caring towards me. I don’t know if that’s another sign that I might go into labour soon. The dog and cat have been following me around a lot more as well…….
Worst Moment: When the husband thought he might not get back to meet baby…
Looking forward to: SEEING THE HUSBAND AGAIN!!!!!!
