When you are preparing for your new arrival, the choice of baby products out there can be a little bit overwhelming. Especially if it’s your first baby. The second time round you have a little bit of experience and we thought we would share ours with you guys.
It is recommended, by health professionals, that your newborn baby sleeps in your room with you for the first six months. We did do the six months with Little I and plan to do the same with this baby when it arrives.
The most popular choices when it comes to what to buy for your baby to sleep in seem to be either a moses basket, or a bedside cot/crib.
With Little I we researched the options thoroughly and came to the conclusion that a bedside cot would best suit our needs.
Our main reasons for this were:
This time round we have decided to combine the two. I will be having the baby up at my parents’ house, because the husband is deployed over the time that I’m due to give birth, and their house layout is different to ours. We will be having the bedside cot set up in the bedroom for night time and a moses basket in one of my parent’s living areas for day time naps. I regretted not having a specific, maneuverable, sleeping place for Little I when she was little. I often used to put her down in her pram’s carrycot for naps.
Here are some cheeky little options out there, for both bedside cots and moses baskets, that we particularly like.
The moses basket is the preferred choice for many other parents so it just depends on your personal choice and needs. This was just what worked best for us!
