(Disclaimer – Sophie from Mumology is not pregnant!!)
When I was pregnant with Little I none of my close friends, or friends nearby, were anywhere near being pregnant so I was a bit of a bump loner.
I always dreamed about being pregnant at the same time of one of my best friends so we could share everything that was going on, go through similar experiences at the same time and generally just act like we were in some ‘bump club’ novel or something.
Now that I’m pregnant with number 2, I am so excited that one of my besties, Jess from Lilypod and Sweetpea, is also pregnant.
It’s hard to go through a pregnancy and not have anyone to really get what you’re going through. There are so many things to worry about when it comes to being pregnant and hearing that someone else feels the same helps to ease the worry. On the flip side, there are so many things to get excited about when you’re pregnant and unless someone is going through the same, or has been through the same, they are less inclined to get as excited as you!
I did make friends with some lovely girls at my NHS antenatal classes but that was quite far into pregnancy and we started meeting up more after we’d had our babies (once I’d moved away!). Rob moved to the South Coast (where we are now) about 3 months before I did, so I also did most of the last 3 months of pregnancy without a husband during the week. Thank goodness for my mum on the end of a phone and the blogging community online!
Having fellow parent bloggers and mums on Twitter to connect with was my saving grace. There was always someone out there willing to answer my silly questions at silly o’clock and it really made the difference between me crumbling to the floor crying or feeling confident enough to tackle whatever was going on.
I’m so excited to share this pregnancy journey with Jess and I’m sure we’ll keep you up to date with what we get up to on our social media and vlogs. Roll on the ‘Mum-To-Be’ spa break!
