There is nothing quite like sitting around and soaking in all the newborn cuddles, but once real life starts kicking in again, and your to do list grows, it’s great to have the option of babywearing to carry on keeping your baby close, but also getting things done.
Babywearing is something that I’ve only really discovered with Baby L. I didn’t really embrace it when Little I when she was a baby. I think I saw it as a bit over complicated and I wasn’t aware of all the wonderful wraps out there. The only ones I had seen were a bit ‘out there’ pattern wise and not really my cup of tea! Baby wearing seems to be a lot more ‘main stream’ now and we have been loving it!
We were contacted by We Made Me and offered a chance to review a selection of their wraps and carriers and are about to share our thoughts on the first one – the Wuti Wrap.
What is the We Made Me Wuti Wrap?
The We Made Me Wuti Wrap is a super stretchy, breathable wrap that can be used for the first nine months of your baby’s life (although you can use it longer if it works or you). It allows you to babywear comfortably and makes the transition from womb to the outside world a bit easier for your little one.
The first thing I noticed when I took the Wuti Wrap out of it’s (really fun and eye catching) packaging was the material. It is really different from any other wrap I’ve used in the past. Much stretchier and
No assembly required. You just have to master the art of getting it on!
How we got on
The We Made Me Wuti Wrap comes with detailed, and illustrated, instructions on how to put it on. It took me a couple of attempts to get it right, but once I mastered it, it was a pretty quick thing to do.
The thing I found the hardest was how tight to make the wrap so that it was the right level of support for L. I often ended up with it far too tight, or far too loose, but we got there in the end. It’s just a matter of trial and error. It’s great that it is quick to get on because when you have a little one screaming at you, the last thing you want to be doing is faffing around, struggling to get a wrap on!
I did feel like the material seemed a bit long in the beginning (I kept dropping the ends in puddles when trying to put it on whilst out and about) but I can see why it is the length it is, so that it can keep accommodating your baby as they grow.
At the moment L is still pretty light so I feel no strain whatsoever on my back, or any other area, but as he grows I’m confident the ergonomically designed Wuti wrap will continue to be just as comfortable, as it is designed to support your baby’s weigh as they grow.
The fact that you bring the material over your shoulders, cross it over and wrap it round means that the wrap is super secure and there is no worry about your baby falling out or being unsupported. I found the fact that the material is both woven and stretchy meant that L was very well supported at all times.
As newborns babies prefer to be held, so when you are babywearing with a wrap, everyone is a winner! Are you interested in how to write my essay for me cheap ? Have you ever wanted to give an essay a little extra attention, but didn’t want to spend the money to hire a professional writer? Do you feel as though your knowledge of the subject is limited and that hiring a writer may be expensive? If so, you should be aware that there are a few things that you can do in order to get great results on your upcoming assignment!
There are certain safety measures you have to take into account when babywearing and these are easily remembered with the TICKS guideline:
I have used my We Made Me Wuti Wrap to go out and about, to go for walks, go shopping, do the bath and bedtime routine with the toddler, watch fireworks, eat lunch, eat a meal out…the list just goes on and on.
Honestly, I really wish I had known about it when I had Little I, almost three years ago. It is a life saver and game changer as a new parent!
Would we recommend?
We would highly recommend the We Made Me Wuti Wrap. It has made life so much easier on lots of different occasions, and I only wished I’d discovered it when I had Little I. My favourite feature is the stretchy material. It feels different to other wraps out there in the market and which makes it stand out.
