I’m a sucker for anything personalised and have always loved the Mr Men and Little Miss books so when they got in touch to offer us the chance to create our own family portrait with their new family portrait maker on their website, we said yes please!
It is literally so easy to put together your Mr Men and Little Miss Family Portrait. You simply go to their website and click on the family portrait maker heading.
Next you click on ‘let’s get started’.
Choose your number of family members.
Choose your background.
Enter your family name.
And choose all your characters and put their names in.
There are lots of characters to choose from including Mr Strong, Little Miss Bossy, Mr Busy, Little Miss Hug and you can also include your family pet in the portrait, if you have one.
It is as simple as that! The checkout process on the website is also very straightforward and quick which is great because there is nothing worse than having to faff aorund trying to check out.
Our order arriver super quick and was packaged up really well. The frame was well protected and I enjoyed the Mr Men and Little Miss tape around the box!
The image is printed onto a canvas and is of a great quality. You can get it framed in a plain White frame, which is, again, of really good quality. The colours on the print are lovely, vibrant and very eye catching.
if you’re looking for a gift for a family, that’s a little bit different and lots of fun, then the Mr Men and Little Miss Family Portrait could be just what you’re looking for. It could also be great for welcoming new babies into the family. Or for grandparents. Or even for work collegue or teacher presents.
I wouldn’t blame you if you just made one up for your own family instead though!
Mr Men Little Miss did some interesting research ahead of their family portrait launch and found that the make up of our immediate families has changed from the traditional, with Brits counting at least one of their friends as a member of the family. ‘Friends really are the family we choose, with nearly two thirds of us (59%) relying on friends for help and advice as much as we do our families’. This definitely rings true for us living far away from our families at the moment.
There’s also a great deal of importance placed on our pets – 74% of Brits considers pets to be part of the family, while 1.5m Brits consider pets to be more important that members of their immediate family! I don’t agree with that – they’re equal haha.
Interestingly, despite nearly half of us, 41%, taking at least one family photo every month, under 1 in 3 (31%) of us own a framed family portrait. Apparently, with the help of handy camera phones, some 2.6m Brits now take a family portrait every day. I don’t know how they get their kids to sit still every day – I struggle to get any photos of all four of us looking int he right direction!
Commenting on the results, Alastair McHarrie of Mr Men Ltd. adds: “We know no two families are the same, and this research proves just that, which is why we created our Family Portraits with a host of familiar characters and some brand new pets. Alongside some classic Happyland backround this means there are over 231m possible combinations, meaning your portrait will be as unique as your family is!”
The RRP of the Mr Men and Little Miss Family Portrait is £50, with the frame, £20 unframed, and you can find out more here.
