The changing bag. One of the most essential items in any parent’s life. It carries all those absolute necessities for a day out with your little one. If it’s not packed properly, you’re in trouble! So when Pacapod got in touch and asked if we’d like to review one of their changing bags from their new Spring/Summer range, of course, we jumped at the chance. Pacapod are renowned for their organisation pods so they help you to pack efficiently for whatever it is you are off out to get up to.
LOOK
We went for the Pacapod Prescott changing bag. What immediately attracted me to it was how classically stylish it looked. My previous Pacapod had a pattern on it, which I loved, but sometimes felt it didn’t go with what I was wearing on a particular day. Everything goes with a Black bag! The Pacapod Prescott also has quite a unisex feel to it which definitely pleased the husband.
The Pacapod Prescott changing bag has two sides to it. One, at the front, which is covered by the satchel style flap and buckles. And one, at the back, which is zipped and contains the two pods. The front part has two sections with ample space for all your bits and bobs. The back part, which holds the two pods, that can be clipped onto the inside of the bag, also has a pocket for the changing mat that comes with the bag.
At first I thought the bag was a little small compared to my last Pacapod changing bag, but then the husband pointed out that there was a zip around the bag that you could unzip to extend it. Oops! It made a big difference and the bag was more than big enough for our needs. I love the fact you can adjust the total size of the bag. It’s a very handy feature.
The materials used to make the Pacapod Prescott changing bag are of a really high quality. And you wouldn’t expect anything less from a brand with as good a reputation as Pacapod. I like the contrast between the canvas on the back part of the bag and the coated cotton on front part. All the materials seem to be pretty easy to clean as well which is always a bonus when you’re dealing with toddlers.
PODS
There can’t be a Pacapod review without a section on their famous pods. They are such an innovative and clever idea for people like me who are a tad OCD about life. Basically you get a Grey changing pod and a Black feeding pod.
The Grey changing pod has elastic bands to hold up a pack of wipes, a pocket for nappies, two mini pockets for bum crème and things like that and then a little pocket on the outside of the pod that I use for nappy sacs.
The Black feeding pod is an insulated pod which can help keep food or drinks hot or cold and is made from a material that’s super easy to wipe down clean. Always a plus point in parenting!
BUGGY STRAPS
There’s nothing worse than when you try to hook a changing bags strap over your buggy handle and it keeps slipping down. That’s why I love the little buggy straps that come with Pacapod changing bags. You simply tie them around your buggy handle and then click your Pacapod changing bag on. Genuis!
HOW WE’VE GOT ON
We’ve been testing the Pacapod Prescott changing bag for a month now and have had no issues. I filled the changing pod up with plenty wipes, nappies, bum crème and nappy sacs so we only need to top that up every now and again. The feeding pod obviously gets cleaned and fresh stuff put in every time we go out! In the other section of the bag I keep a selection of toys and books for car journeys and for if we go out to eat. I try to pop my purse, phone, lipstick and whatever else I need in the front slot of the open section so that they are easy to grab.
Being a vlogger, when we go out at the weekend, I bring a bit of camera gear with me. The Pacapod Prescott changing bag always has enough room to accommodate a camera case, with additional batteries, a mini tripod and a selfie stick…with a bit of squashing dependent on how many toys Little I wants to bring along.
